PLEASE NOTE:

         Our gauging system is a bit “odd”.  Below is listed the ACTUAL diameters of each gauge of wire that we offer.

16g. = 1.2 mm / 0.045 in.*

18g. = 1.5 mm / 0.055 in.*

 

* Allow a 0.05 mm / 0.005” margin of error

Technical Info:

 

Our preferred alloy is 5154 H18 Aluminum.  The “contaminant” concentrations of this alloy are as follows:

 

Mg: ~3.25%                    Mn: ~0.2%

Fe: ~0.1%                         Si: ~0.05%

 

All of the percentages are approximations, with an error margin of 0.25%

We use the Caswell Low Current Anodizing system.  We also use only Caswell Dyes, but we can match almost any color with these.
