Who Are We?

Our History:

We started as a product of necessity. My mom and I were, and still are, avid chainmaille weavers. We wanted to weave some jewelry in my high school's team colors: maroon and gray. We called around and searched endlessly on the internet to find someone who would be willing to make us the maroon wire or rings. Finally, after discovering that every company we talked to either wanted us to buy a massive amount, or pay an outrageous fee to get the color, we decided that we could perhaps make the color on our own. We ordered a basic starter kit from Caswell, and a few other necessary bits and pieces, and began experimenting in our basement. We finally got the color just right, and we commented on the M.A.I.L. Forum about our success.

Shortly thereafter, we were approached by a college student at Virginia Tech about getting some VA Tech Maroon rings. Props to him, as he made us realize that there were others like him, and us, that just wanted good quality wire and rings, and the occasional special color. From there, we began advertising on forums and message boards, and what started out as a handful of orders became a virtual flood of business. We have had to double our production capability twice already, and are possibly preparing to do so again.

Having come from such a humble beginning, we are working constantly to serve the people that we were. We value the "smaller" orders, and try to keep a personal touch to our customer service. We feel that we fill a place in the artisan market that most companies are too busy to notice. We are committed to providing custom colors better than anyone else.

Our Present:

We are still working out of our basement, though we have cleared much more space than when we started. We still have just two full time employees (my mom and I) and my girlfriend helps out when she is able. We are weekend warriors, with me being a full-time student, and my mom teaching. We do not have as much time to devote to this as we would like, so patience is appreciated.

Below are a few photos of our setup in the basement:
